All players should:-

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their age, ethnic origin, gender, special needs, including learning and physical disabilities, class or social background, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, colour or political persuasion.
  • Discourage all instances of unsporting behaviour both on & off the pitch and display modesty in victory & graciousness in defeat
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of children (those under 18) and any other vulnerable person to protect them from abuse and poor practice
  • Play for enjoyment with sportsmanship in mind at all times
  • Be aware of, and always comply with the RFU Policies & Guidelines to maintain the safety of yourself, your team mates and opponents
  • Do not repeatedly breach the Laws of the Game relating to Foul Play or Misconduct as defined in the World Rugby Regulation
  • Respect the referee at all times. Respect your opponent. Respect your teammates. Respect your coach. Respect all match and club officials whether on or off the field
  • Treat all other players as you yourself would wish to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage, of any player
  • Shake hands with and thank the opposition players and officials after the game whatever the result
  • Observe the laws of the game and always respect the match official’s decision
  • Work as hard for your team as for yourself. Share failures and celebrate success
  • Encourage honest and open competition
  • Participate as a member of a team to achieve the RFU’s goals and objectives
  • Control your emotions. Do not lose your temper. Do not abuse, threaten or intimidate, use crude language or gestures or show unnecessary obvious dissension, displeasure or disapproval towards any match official, players, supporters or club staff members, whether on or off the field
  • Safeguard your health and that of your team mates and all club members. This includes, but is not restricted to, the taking of any illegal substance, whether for performance enhancing or recreational purposes. A zero tolerance is advocated in accordance with both the RFU guidelines & the Huddersfield Laund Hill Community Clubs Drugs & Alcohol Policy.
  • Be focused and attentive at all training and coaching sessions
  • Care for and respect the facilities and equipment made available to you during training and competition
  • Do not make any public comment that is critical of the performance of a match official, player, team official, coach or officer/volunteer of any club or on any matter likely to be the subject of an investigation or disciplinary process. Nor make any public comment that would likely be detrimental to the best interests, image and welfare of the Game, a Team, a Club or Competition.
  • Use Social Media appropriately. Do not post negative content that breaches this Code or that is against any Club or Competition rules and regulations.
  • Act professionally to avoid bringing your Team, your Club , the Rugby body or the sport of rugby in general into disrepute.
  • Be a positive role model and ambassador for Huddersfield Laund Hill RUFC
  • Adhere to the Core Values of the game at all times – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportsmanship

Breaches of this code of conduct may result in disciplinary action.
